WinXP Setup Instructions

Windows XP Internet Setup:

1. Go to the start menu and select all programs,

Choose Accessories
Choose Communications
Choose New Connection Wizard

2. At the Welcome to the New Connection Wizard,

Click Next.

3. At the network connection type screen,

Select 'Connect to the Internet'
Click Next

4. At the Getting Ready screen,

Select the second option 'Set up my connection manually'
Click Next

5. At the Internet Connection screen,

Select 'Connect using a dial-up modem'
Click Next

6. At the Connection Name screen,

Type 'Forbin Internet' (or Forbin)
Click Next

7. At the Phone Number to Dial screen,

Enter 235-6000
Do not use a 1+(area code) unless the call is Long Distance
Click Next

8. At the Internet Account Information screen,

Enter the username
Enter the password (and confirm it)
Select the first and second check box
Leave 'Turn on Internet Connection Firewall' unchecked
Click Next

9. At the Completing the New Connection Wizard screen,

Select 'Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop'
Click Finish

To set up your Outlook Express, open the program

1. Click on TOOLS, Click on Accounts.
2. Click on the MAIL tab.
3. Click on the Add button and choose Mail.
4. For display name enter in your real name, then click next.
5. For email address, enter in your username@forbin.net and click next.
6. Enter mail.forbin.net for the incoming and outgoing mail servers.
7. Enter your username for the account name (use all lowercase letters).
8. Enter your password where it wants the password. It should show up like **** for security reasons, then click next.
9. Now click Finish, at the next window click on Close, exit Outlook Express and next time you launch the program it will be ready to send and receive email.
