To set up your connection on Windows Vista:
1. Single click Start, and then Connect To.
2. Single click Set up a connection or network towards the bottom of the window
3. Single click Set up a dial-up connection and click Next
4. On this page:
* In the Dial-up phone number field, enter the dialup access phone number given to you by Forbin - 235-6000 (local Dialing Area) or 352-9409 (Shell Rock). Do not enter a "1" or Area Code.
* In the User name field, enter your Username/ID.
* Enter the Password you chose in the Password field. If you are unsure if you typed it correctly, you can click Show characters to show you what you typed. Make sure it is all Lower Case letters.
* Type Forbin or Forbin Internet in the Connection name field.
*Be sure to put a check mark next to Allow Other People To Use This Connection. A pop up box will come up that you will need to click to Continue.
* Click Connect
5. If the test is unsuccessful, which is not abnormal (especially if the phone line from the wall jack isn't connected yet), Click Set up the connection anyway.
6. Click Close and you're done! Should you want to connect to the Internet, simply open a browser (such as Internet Explorer), or by clicking Start, and then Connect To, and select the Forbin access.
Windows Mail Setup
1. Single click Start Button, Click & Open Windows Mail. Choose the Tools menu and select Accounts.
2. Click the Add button.
3. Click E-mail Account and click Next.
4. For Display Name, enter Your Real Name as you would like people to see it when they receive mail from you.
Click Next.
5. Enter your email address example: username@forbin.net
Click Next.
6. The Incoming e-mail server type is POP3. For the Incoming Mail server, enter: mail.forbin.net. For the Outgoing Mail server, enter: mail.forbin.net (type both in lower case letters)
Click Next.
7. Enter the E-mail Username/ID (part prior to the @ sign, example: joeuser is the Username/ID for joeuser@forbin.net). Enter the password. Make sure both are all lower case letters.
Click Next.
8. Click Finish. |
